Pussies need not apply....for government positions Feb. 18th, 2006 @ 04:50 pm
In my research to do a persuasive essay called "Why President Bush Should be Impreached" [tentative title] I've come across some very interesting points that would support my position. Some of my points outline the ineptitude of the GOP as well as Bush 43's blatant lies.

Depressingly, I find my party, the Democrats, inept, directionless, and spineless to combat the Republicans. I'll give this to the Republicans: They are smart, they attack hard, and they can at least agree with each other within their own party, most of the time; i.e., they are unified.

I found this article by Arianna Huffington, who I remember as a staunch right-y, but has since relocated to the political "center." I thought her point of view was right on the mark.

Democrats....get a spine!Collapse )

Original hotlink here.

Come on, Democrats, grow a fucking spine! Stop worrying about "alienating the common American." The reason Republicans keep winning elections is because they appear to be strong in their convictions...unlike Democrats. I think that if Democrats start acting like those bastard Republicans, we would win back Americans [and American votes] if we were as strong as them when it came time to fight for our causes. Jeez.

Move Against AIDS- Donations Nov. 30th, 2005 @ 04:12 pm
Hey Everyone!!!!

I'm writing to let you know that I've registered for Move Against AIDS, and am very excited about the event! This is a very important issue to me so I have set an ambitious fundraising goal to raise money for GMHC, the nation's first and most comprehensive AIDS service organization.

GMHC provides direct, life-sustaining services to people who really need the help. Did you know that in the US half of all new infections occur in people under the age of 25 and that one in 50 men in Manhattan is HIV+? I want to help change that.

Part of the proceeds also benefit the Community HIV/AIDS Mobilization Project (CHAMP). CHAMP is dedicated to training and mobilizing the next generation of HIV/AIDS advocates and fights for a world in which everyone living with, or at risk of, HIV/AIDS has access to accurate and effective HIV prevention information.

I need your help to reach my goals. Will you please sponsor me for Move Against AIDS? Just click on the website address below to enter my fundraising web page, and make your donation. If you have problems with this page, just go to www.moveagainstaids.org. There go to "Sponsor Participant" and write my name in the spaces provided (Edgardo Sanabria-Valentin). ANY amount you can spare will help us make a difference!!!

Thank you in advance for supporting this important cause, and for joining me in changing the course of this epidemic.

Hi, I'm new to the community. My name's Alan, I live in Indianapolis, Indiana (USA), and about half the time I'm a total bookworm.

» Question
How would you react to gay couples cuddling all lovey-dovey during a movie that depicts the victim of childhood sexual abuse growing up to be a hustler, and includes a violent anal rape scene? Is cuddling okay because a movie involves gay sex, regardless of the context? Why or why not? I'm particularly interested in the responses and reasoning of those who say yes, because I'm trying to determine if I'm being overly sensitive.

And don't pretend none of you would say yes, because I saw people cuddling and know some people must think it is okay. Even if I can't understand it personally. But then, maybe I'm just overly sensitive.

I'm asking everyone who reads this article and is appauled by it to write to the Iranian Ambassador to protest these excutions.

I'm horrified and disgusted.

I didn't write these questions, but who cares...

1. Would you accept twenty years of extraordinary happiness and fulfillment if it meant you would die at the end of the period?

my response...Collapse )

2. If you knew there would be a nuclear war in one week, what would you do?

» Re-orientation therapy
As far as good research procedure in psychology goes, those who claim that programs (such as Love in Action) work in changing sexual orientation of a kid from gay to straight, shouldn't they give a supporting experimental result that with reversed variables they can change someone from straight to gay?
